New Year, New You: Three ways to make a fresh, healthy start

Another year has come and gone. How you feelin’?

Over the holidays both of us, Chris & Parisa, thought of you often, our precious friends, family and clients.

What we wish for our own family – health, happiness, good cheer, love – is what we hope you and your loved ones give and receive too.

More than ever, Morning Crane is holding a guiding vision that inspires us personally and professionally. We want to help reshape healthcare and how people define health and well-being.

We want to see a world where medical doctors behave as compassionate healers.

A world where everyone has the same opportunities for good health, soul-centered work and a vibrant inner life.

We want people to be free from chronic pain and hopeless thinking.

Happy New Year, indeed!

We know our vision is lofty and “out there” but guess what? Our vision is possible because of people like you.

Every year, there are more and more people like us; people who believe that a brighter, kinder, healthier future is possible because we know hope and faith are within us.

We hope that by sharing our top three intentions for 2017, you’re inspired to make your own list and approach the New Year with a mindset that honors your mind, body and spirit.

Peace
Peace starts at home. To build a peaceful Earth, strive to make your inner life peaceful. Ask yourself, “What can I do right now, in this moment, to bring more peace to my mind, body, and life?” This year the two of us commit to avoiding drama, co-creating peaceful at-home activities, observing our thoughts without judgment, and seeking more joy and calm in our lives.

Forgiveness
Being part of a mixed, blended family has its challenges and opportunities. Our parenting stumbles and fumbles have taught us a lot over the years. This year our intention is to let go of resentments and grudges, take the high road when possible, and avoid drama divas (out there and within)! We’ve learned that if you want to fast-track forgiveness, approach yourself and others from a place of compassion and gratitude.

Self-Care
Last year was busy. And when life gets busy, Self comes last. This year we are both committed to making time for more exercise — yes, making time to work out is tough for us too! We resolve to go to bed earlier and eat and drink in moderation. How are we going to achieve all that? We’re doing more Qigong. The ancient practice clears out the old and brings in a newer, stronger, healthier, happier you.

Love yourself. And take care. This year and always.

Wishing you all the best in the upcoming year. Happy New Year!

Love & gratitude,

–Chris & Parisa Shelton
